Matching Grants

The Charlotte Sister Cities Matching Grant Program was established by the Charlotte International Cabinet in 2016 to encourage citizen diplomacy and community engagement with Charlotte's Sister Cities and other official city relationships abroad. Charlotte Sister Cities collaborates with the Charlotte International Cabinet to allocate matching funds to local organizations promoting events or initiatives open to the community, fostering understanding and partnership with our seven sister cities. Up to $1,500 in matching grants may be awarded to up to five organizations or groups annually. Information for those interested in 2024 grants will be available in late August.

Virtual Forums

A series of sister cities spotlights, in the form of a virtual forum, where we discuss the history of our relationships with the people who forged them.

Sister Cities Scholars

The Scholars program is an opportunity to connect with Charlotte’s sister cities on a deeper level. Hear from our partners around the world and learn about the history of our relationships. There is no fee to become a CSC Scholar and the program is open to everyone regardless of age, location, citizenship, or background.
